It is interesting how a website that began as simultaneous tribute and April Fool's joke can become inspiration to start-up a nonprofit shelter...but, Adopt-A-Gay Foundation is proud to announce: Adopt-A-Rainbow Shelter.
The Adopt-A-Rainbow Shelter (AARS) is currently in the start-up process. We have a business license and Fed Tax ID Number, and we're getting together the documentation required to apply for the 501 (c) 3 tax exempt status from the IRS. The AARS website is under construction.
If you can, please donate to the Adopt-A-Rainbow Shelter, you can use the AAR Shelter "FundRazr app" on Facebook, or, the PayPal link located on the AARS website's donation page.
The Adopt-A-Gay Foundation was pseudo-founded in 2002 when Sarah Black first adopted half of the Hampton Roads area LGBTs. 2010 marked the auspicious occasion of the unofficial foundation getting it's first web page.

Petition to NY for Trans People Who Need to Adjust the Gender on Birth Certificates
Sarah has fought with the State of Virginia on this issue, to no avail. Today, we stand in solidarity with Trans People in New York. Remember, the fight starts with one person saying, "Enough!" Sign the petition below:
