Follow the link below to sign the HRC Petition: Stop the Spread of Hate in the Name of Religion inspired by the horribly underhanded tactics of three bigoted Americans Religicrits who preached about the "evils of Homosexuality" to Ugandans to encourage religious-based contempt and prejudice against Ugandan homosexuals. The result of the hate-mongering was the introduction of the Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Bill (punishment carries the death penalty) and recently caused the death of David Kato, a Ugandan Gay Rights Activist who was killed in his home.
Now, for a note from the Latter-Day Saints: Herald Extra (news): LDS Church responds to HRC Petition. This letter explains the church's opposition to the treatment of Ugandan Homosexuals as well as those American homosexuals who've been bullied to death. While the letter admits the LDS church is adamantly opposed to same-sex marriage, they claim to support LGBT peoples in other ways (housing, non-discrimination).
A church that believes marriage to be between "one man and one woman" is well within their rights. To want to stop the discrimination against LGBT people while disagreeing on the issue of marriage shows a group attempting to follow their church doctrine. Or, are they simple trying to make up for the Prop 8 fiasco in California? I doubt that.
If you want to do something about the actions of the Latter-Day Saints in the Prop 8 Fiasco, then follow the instructions for filing a complaint with the IRS at the following link: Revoke LDS Church 501(3)c Tax Exempt Status. Revocation is on the grounds of substantial activities which influenced legislation...a big "no-no" under US Code Title 26 section 501(3)c subsection (h)(3).
And, for a website full of information about what the Mormons did to support Prop 8, follow the link:
Mormons for 8. A quote from Mormons for 8's About page: "Mormons for Proposition 8 exists to provide as much information about the LDS church’s involvement in supporting California’s Proposition 8 as it can gather." These people are excellent participants in the "transparency" category, they even include donor amounts as well as where they directed the millions of dollars they received to propagandize bigotry and ruin the chances of LGBT to gain their inalienable rights of "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."
Churches have the right to be against same-sex marriage. Churches do not have the right to interfere in the politics of the nation. Nor do churches have the right to effectively purchase discriminatory legislation. However, as California and the world saw, the Mormon church is not afraid to voice their opinion and to take action in the political sphere to propagandize that position, nor are they afraid to put vast financial resources to the task of preventing homosexuals from achieving the American Dream.
These two examples of Religicrits in action, should be enough to alert the world to the danger of religious fundamentalism in the political sphere. We're talking about purportedly religious individuals, groups, and leaders who spend their time demeaning (and/or killing) homosexuals over religious differences...that is not a separation between church and state designed to protect religious freedom.
The Adopt-A-Gay Foundation was pseudo-founded in 2002 when Sarah Black first adopted half of the Hampton Roads area LGBTs. 2010 marked the auspicious occasion of the unofficial foundation getting it's first web page.

At the end of the article you will find a petition to hold the transphobic officers accountable for their unacceptable behavior.

Gay Laws and Rights
Ok everybody, I am writing this blog because I want to know how everyone feels about gay marriage, employment non-discrimination act (ENDA), and other issues of queer importance. It might seem long, but bear with me.
I have noticed that all people and non-profits are fighting for equality in the name of gay marriage or other small topics. To achieve equality we need to seem "NORMAL" on the social playing field. Meaning that if society sees us as productive and "NORMAL" they will be more willing to give us all the things we seek for equality. Instead of society's current view of us as prostituting, drug using freaks applying for marriage, what if we fight for laws that allow us to work and be "NORMAL" first. Once we are seen by employers and co-workers as normal people and not those listed above maybe then we will get all those things we all want so very badly.
For an example, your new boss is an upright citizen, but thinks we are doing the devil's work and are one day going to hell because we are the downfall of America's morals. Yet, because of a law being passed you now work for him on a daily basis. Of course it will be tough at first, but once they see we are no different than anyone else they will start to think of us as being just as "NORMAL" as anyone else. Thus, by showing people who we are, rather than, telling them who we are will assure that someday we will be able to achieve all the things everyone else has achieved.
to be continued...
